Vincent F. Mason Sr. Coral Resort and Spa
St. Croix, USVI
Located on the west end of St. Croix near Frederiksted, Vincent Mason Pool has been an icon of community gatherings for the past 50 years. In September 2017, Hurricane Maria damaged the buildings, the pool and tore out the power poles that serviced the site. J Benton started renovation in June 2024 and completed the project in March 2025. Renovation of the buildings consisted of new metal corrugated roofing, new doors and hardware, new plumbing fixtures for the restrooms, new electrical, new plumbing and fresh paint. The weathered columns and wood on the Pavilion were sanded and stained to look brand new. The two bar areas on either side of the Pavilion were restored to look new. The old site amenities were replaced with new picnic tables, barbeque grills, trash receptacles, Cabanas, benches, and a Beach Volleyball court. The sidewalk throughout the site, which consisted of pavers, was restored and replaced to look new. Three existing Shade Gazebos were completely remodeled. New site light poles were installed throughput the parking area. New landscaping, consisting of trees and shrubs, was installed. The existing damaged pool was removed and replaced with a 79,500-gallon pool. The pool equipment is new as is all the plumbing and electricity to service the pool. The new pool has features such as beach access, bubblers at the beach access, steps and bench at the transition from the beach access to the pool and an eleven foot pool deck created with pavers.
